Coaches

We have a strong and growing team of coaches at Dacorum AC. Many have international and national level experience. We are also actively developing new coaches through a combination of training and mentoring. Currently, we have 31 coaches of whom 5 are ex-internationals.

Deb Keenleyside

Head Coach - Hurdles & 3/400m Coach

Ex-International - UKA Athletics Coach

Deb was a member of the National Hurdles squad 1976-80, won British Universities Champs in 1979 and 1980, finished 3rd in National Champs 1980 and represented GB at 400m Hurdles. Later competed in World and European Masters competitions over 100m Hurdles and at Triple Jump. 

Mike Dunphy

Middle Distance Coach

UKA Level 4 Coach

Mike is a UK Athletics Level 4 qualified coach and was a Southern Counties Staff Coach for Middle Distance events.

Sue Lowe

Sprints Coach

Sue was ranked equal 6th in UK for junior girls 100m, competed at English Schools (Junior Girls:100m, Senior Girls: 400m) and was Southern Inter-Counties 400m Champion

 

Trevor Ratcliffe

Javelin Coach

Ex-International - UKA Coaching Assistant

Trevor was a founding member of Dacorum and Tring Athletics Club and was World Indoor Masters (M40) Javelin Champion in 2008

He was also a World Masters bronze medallist in 2015, Silver Medallist at the GB Masters in 2020 and represented South of England in 1996.

Peter Stansbury

Sprints Coach

Peter was a National Schools finalist at 400m, British Masters Finalist at 400m and British Masters Bronze Medallist at 60m Hurdles.  He was also a 1st Division & County Volleyball Player, winning national Gold and Silver medals.  

Rob Wright

Long, Triple & High Jump Coach

Rob is a Member of the Dacorum AC road runners and Vets team and is a former Triathlete and Rugby League Player & Coach.

Andy Jackson

Pole Vault Coach

Ex-International - UKA Coaching Assistant

Andy was a GB international pole vaulter having been English Schools and National under 20 champion.  Having turned his hand to coaching he was awarded Dacorum Sports Awards Coach of the Year in 2015.  He also played rugby for Wasps.

Selwyn Weekes

Sprints Coach

UKA Athletics Coach, Associate UKSCA

Selwyn was an enthusiastic 100/200m sprinter until his mid-50s.

He is a UKSCA associate member with a special interest in plyometrics & speed.

Seb Wadlow

Celia Findlay

Road Running Coach

Ex-Internationat - UKA Coach in Running Fitness

Celia is a World Masters Silver Medallist for the Marathon and Herts Masters Champion for 5K, 10K & Half Marathon.  Her PB for the marathon is 2 hours 56 minutes.

Trevor Crichton

Hammer and Discus Coach

Trevor was Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire County Champion (Hammer).  He represented English Universities (Hammer), and captained English Universities in 1980.  He represented British Universities in 1975.                            

Shaun Wall

Shot Put Coach

Shaun is Senior Men indoor and Outdoor County Champion in Shot, twice National Champion Javelin V35, and silver medal National V35 Shot. English Schools Octathalon Finalists. Ex Military and Ex Semi Pro Rugby League player.

Ralph Williams

Ralph was World Catholic Games U18 Champion (110mH), English Schools U17 & U20 finalist, South of England Bronze medallist and Herts County Champion (indoor & outdoor) 2015-2019

Haydn Wiliams

Haydn was ranked England no.1 as an U13 (60mH), Eastern Counties U17 Champion (400mH), Herts County U20 Champion (400mH), and England U16 Judo Squad

Jamie Marlow

Running Fitness

UKA Leadership In Running Fitness

Jamie was UK Masters (M35) Ultra-Trail Champion.  He is also a Marathon runner with a PB of 2 hours 47 minutes

He represented Lincolnshire Schools.

Amber Carroll

Years 2-7 Coaching Assistant

Amber was a World Catholic Games 300m Hurdles Bronze medallist in 2015, came 4th in the 300m Hurdles at the Bedford International Games in 2015, and was County Champion in 2015.

 

Petra Carroll

Coach for junior Groups (Years 2-7)

Petra was County Pentathlon Champion, specialising in Hurdles and High Jump, in 1983 and a County Netball player 1982-1988.  In addition to being a UK Athletics Coach, Petra is a qualified Gymnastics & Netball coach

Petra is team manager for U13 boys and girls.

Zoe Carroll

u13 & Years 2-5 Coaching Assistant

UKA Coaching Assistant

Zoe represented Herts as U13, U15 and U17,  and competed at Regional Multi-events Competition.  Zoe has completed the Game Changers course for volunteers and was U15 County Netball captain.

Zoe also  plays netball in the Wasps franchise.

Sophie Routledge

Leader In Running Fitness

Sophie was Herts County Champion over 800m, medallist at County Cross-Country and has a best marathon time of 4hours 15mins

 

 

Alison Parker

Alison was English Schools 400m Hurdles Finalist in 1988, Eastern Counties Champion at 400m Hurdles in 1994 and County Champion at 400m Hurdles, Pentathlon and Sprint Hurdles 1986-1996

Alison still holds a number of Dacorum AC Club Records.

Tim Marshall

Steeplechase Coach

Tim was Humberside county champion and a steeplechase specialist. As an Under 17 he was twice Bronze medalist in the Northern Counties Steeplechase and a finalist in AAA Champs.

Belinda Williams

Sprints Coach

Belinda was Northamptonshire record holder (LJ & 200m), is a Qualified Field Events Official as well as being a
D & T road runner

Charlie Rowland

Javelin Coach

UKA Athletics Coach - PE Teacher

Charlie is PE Teacher at Chesham Preparatory School and has coached young athletes aged 10-13 to National standard in High Jump, Javelin, Shot Put and Hurdles.

 

 

 

 

Mia Mcintosh

Mia is the British record holder (75mH & 80mH) as well as English Schools Champion and National Champion

Tim Marshall

Tim was Humberside County Champion  (Steeplechase), Bronze medallist at North of England Champs (Steeplechase), and finalist in National U17M Steeplechase
